Pets are wonderful additions to any family, regardless of its size. Having said this, however, we do know that it's not always appropriate to have pets along on vacations or when you are away from home for an extended period of time.

Anticipating your need we provide pet boarding facilities at Academy Animal Hospital.

First and foremost, however, you must know that we have a very limited amount of space. Because we pay very close attention to your pet while it is staying with us, we limit the number of pets we board at the same time. We suggest that you call to check on availability and pricing. People start calling us in September to make reservations for Thanksgiving and Christmas. So, as soon as you know that you'll need to board your pet, call and reserve a special place.

We have instituted a new policy concerning your pet's vaccination. In order for us to board your pet, we will need to see documentation stating that it has received all required vaccines within the preceding year, if your records are not on file with our facility.

All dogs need to have a kennel cough vaccination and a fecal exam within the preceding six months to boarding.

Our boarding facilities feature indoor cages and air conditioning.

Each day that your dog boards with us, it will be let out into a covered run two or three times a day.

Your pet will be administered medication where necessary and appropriate. An additional cost might be assessed with this, so please indicate the necessity when you call.

All dietary specifications will be met, however, as with medication, an additional cost might be incurred.
